Bush: "I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation-building. . . . I think what we need to do is convince people who live in the lands they live in to build the nations. Maybe I'm missing something here. I mean, we're going to have a kind of nation-building corps from America? Absolutely not."

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush has signed an $82 billion spending bill to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and other projects, including border enforcement and tsunami relief, the White House said Wednesday.
Bush: "New democracies are taking root in Iraq and Afghanistan, and America is proud to stand with them","This legislation will help America continue to promote freedom and democracy."
Ok, I know I am not the first to point this out but come on!
They try to excuse this by saying: "it's a different world since 9/11" or "9/11 changed things".
No, before 9/11 there were obviously plenty of terrorist nuts out there who were plotting to attack America. Now, after 9/11, there's a bunch of terrorist nuts out there who are plotting to attack America.
Nothing has changed. Unless of course you count all the terrorists we killed in Iraq, then, by their counts, there are fewer threats than before.

You're right, the WTC event wasn't the cause of things changing after 9-11. It was the result of our previous actions, the symptom of our policy. America has been fiddling around in other countries for our own profit for a long time and now it's really coming back to get us. So what do we do in response? We go out and do some more of the same thing, worse than before. And what is the result? More terrorism than ever in 2004. Look for more to come.
nice new profile photo, jedi master.
Just because we killed a bunch of terrorists in Iraq does make the number who hate us any less, acctually because of all the hate against the US, I would have to say that we have increased the number of groups that would love to see us dead.
Star Wars??? HUMMM isn't that what Reagan blew so much money on? LOL. The new movie was good, I saw it about two weeks ago.
Bush earlier statements were before he started using the ear piece. He is a neo-con robot - not even important enough to notify when the White House is under code red alert.
No, before 9/11 there were obviously plenty of terrorist nuts out there who were plotting to attack America.
Of course, but we didn't know that.
