They're All Going to Hell!

Matthew 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

I guess this means all those guys like Pat Robertson, Jimmy Swaggert, George Bush, Joyce Meyers, Robert Tilton and Jerry Falwell are all going to hell unless one of them can figure out how to shove a camel through the eye of a needle. But I guess Jerry Falwell is already going to hell because he is a disgusting fat body and the Bible treats gluttony as a sin. Or is that another part of the Bible that people ignore and interpret to fit within their own lifestyles?

Fanning the Flames of Biblical Homo Erotica

I figure this is as good of a time as any to bring up this topic. We all know there is nothing in the Bible condemning same sex marriages. However, there are some references to how homosexual activity was frowned upon to some degree. But, did you know that there were instances where it was not frowned upon?
Maybe you Bible scholars can help me with this one but it sure seems that David, of David and Goliath fame, was a lover of Jonathon, who was Saul's, the King of Israel's, son.

Here are some versus that have brought me to that conclusion:

1 Samuel 18:3: Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
18:4: And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

No explanation needed here, make of it what you will.

1 Samuel 18:21: Saul thought, "Let me give her to him, that she may be a snare for him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him." Therefore Saul said to David a second time, "You shall now be my son-in-law."

The story behind this one is when Saul was offering David one of his Daughters; the theory about the second time you will be my son-in-law, is that David was already a son-in-law of Saul through Jonathan. Albeit there are multiple translations, and they can all be interpreted differently, as with the rest of the Bible.

2 Samuel 1:26: I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathon: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

This one is David grieving over Jonathon being killed in battle, stating that he loved Jonathon more than women.

I'm not saying they were definitely ass banging each other, but it sure seems that way doesn't it?

Can anyone explain this one?

Speaking of interpretations, if you don't feel "thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women" is a reference to homosexuality, then why would you think "If a man also lie with mankind" is, such as in Leviticus 20:13? Leviticus 20:13 is typically the verse people use to prove God hates gay people, even though "lie with" could be interpreted in various ways. Does it mean I can't go camping with the guys anymore and share the same tent?

Why would one be taken literally and the other not?

In case you were wondering about Leviticus 20:13, this is what it says:
20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Of course this is also the chapter where God says you can stone your children, you can't have sex with your wife during her "flow", that you are not allowed to trim your beard, and explains the need to eat kosher.

Interesting Headlines 2

From CNN:
Tuesday, February 15, 2005 Posted: 8:17 AM EST (1317 GMT)
ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (AP) -- The daughter of conservative Republican Alan Keyes referred to herself Monday as a "liberal queer" and urged support for gay and lesbian young people who have been deserted by their families.

Ha ha, you've got to love irony. This just goes to show you that if you preach and preach your bullshit long enough, and shove enough of it down someones throat their whole life, that it will eventually backfire on you. Let this be a lesson for all you conservatives out there who obsessively talk about homosexuality to their kids all day.

Heres what Alan Keyes said about Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter in an interview:

Mike Signorile: "So Mary Cheney is a selfish hedonist, is that it?"
Alan Keyes: "Of course she is. That goes by definition. Of course she is."

Alan Keyes thinks the only reason to get married is to procreate, and that love and sex have nothing to do with it at all. I guess all the married people out there without kids are just walking perverted ids according to this theory.

Interesting Headlines

From CNN:
Tuesday, February 15, 2005 Posted: 11:36 AM EST (1636 GMT)
BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Defrocked priest Paul Shanley, a central figure in the Boston Archdiocese clergy sex abuse scandal, was sentenced Tuesday to 12 to 15 years in prison for raping a boy repeatedly in the 1980s.

Good, the only problem is that there are actually people, his lawyer included, that think he shouldn't have to go to jail. The article went on to say that some inmate advocates think that if he goes to jail, it will basically be a death sentence like when former priest John Geoghan was killed by an inmate trying to "save the children." Exactly, that's the point what goes around comes around.

"He's so high-profile that that puts a big target on his back," said James Pingeon, a lawyer at Massachusetts Correctional Legal Services, a group that provides civil legal services to inmates. "We feel concerned. Obviously, he's a vulnerable person because of his notoriety and his age." Good, now he will know what all the boys he ass raped felt.

Tax Exempt Political Campaigning

It is currently illegal for a tax exempt organization to endorse a candidate for a national election. That sounds completely reasonable right? You wouldn't want the Red Cross the Salvation Army or your kid’s school, the Boys and Girls club, or your mother’s old-age home to tell them, or you, who they think you should vote for would you?
Neither would I, but apparently it's ok for your church to endorse a candidate and tell you who to vote for. Republican Congressman from NC Walter Jones has introduced a bill that would allow only churches the right to do such a thing and keep their tax exempt status. The bill is called the "House of Worship Free Speech Act" HR 235 IH. It brings what I was saying in my previous post, "free speech for Christians only" into new light doesn't it?
Does this make any sense other than it keeping fundamentalist Bible thumping southern republicans in office? This is about as hypocritical as you get, what he is saying is "lets let a conservative institution accept donations, campaign for me, and not pay any taxes, but we still won't let organizations like the Red Cross and other charities do the same, because they probably wouldn't vote for me or my colleagues."
I really have no problem with churches endorsing candidates for office, but I also have no problem making them pay taxes on the money they collect. Look at someone like Pat Robertson whose net worth is 200 million plus, where do you think that money came from? Contributions that were not taxed!
Call your Congressman and tell them you will track them down and hog tie them if they support the House of Worship Free Speech Restoration Act HR 235 IH.
