Top Ten Signs You Are A Fundamentalist Christian

I didn't write this but found it rather amusing:

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

Hi I read your comment over at the Now for something different site those people are just mean & nasty because well...either they were raised to be mean & nasty Or listen to too much negative shit Or are afraid & lashing out for some reason. I suspect they understand on some level that they are losing the war(in a sense) & America is moving ahead in higher consciousness spite of their trying to yank us back into the 17th century or worse.

In my political activism, I get to deal with people like that all the time. Fear & lack of critical thinking makes bullies of these people. They have bought into the self serving lies of the powers that be, they are good consumers that buy all the shit thrust before them. They think political activism is a matter of slapping plastic ribbons on your pick-up truck or if you are a real activist you go out spy for the police & taunt hippies on picket lines, while you wave you US flag. If you've been in a war all the better, you've served you country. No matter that you were 19 to 20 years old & had no idea what you were doing beyound some vague notion that this would get you ahead in life somehow...(the financial incentives are pretty good for people that have no other options.)

Anyway, I was pleased to see your comment over & I am enjoying your blog posts.

i also have another blog here that is more personal.
i'd be happy for you to visit.

Lack of critical thinking? That and a pure lack of education and a lack of any sense of skepticism and a complete distortion of reality. If they aren't disgusted by what this administration has done (if they even care to know, which they don't) then they aren't worthy of being American.

i want to tell you that although i like your comments on my Concerned citizen blog I trying to keep my blogs seperate. my other blog is concerned with personal thoughts & ideas that i don't ness. want to share with people who are out to get me so to speak. i know that sounds paranoid, but you have to realize what kind of people I deal with. so although i'm very glad to print your comments & respond to then on the CCC blog I don't want any links from that to my other blog.

This blog on the other hand is a different matter. i'm happily adding you to my links. :)
