Why Katherine Harris is an Idiot and Needs to Retire

Katherine Harris, the former Florida Secretary of State who handed Bush the Election in 2000 and whose own party members refuse to endorse for her Senate run, is making headlines again.

In an interview with some God-bob publication she made the statements that separation of church and state is "a lie" and God and the nation's founding fathers did not intend the country be "a nation of secular laws." Of course she couldn't cite any examples of this and since she had no clue as to how elections work, she can't be expected to know history either. Some other statements she made include separating religion and politics is "wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers", and "If you're not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin."

Well Katherine, I thought you would like to know what a few of our founding fathers and other experts had to say about that, not to mention that the words "God", "Jesus" or "Christianity", never once appears in our nations most important document, the U.S. Constitution:

"Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law."
Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper, February 10, 1814

Believing that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their Legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State.”
Thomas Jefferson 1802

"I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology. Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the earth. "
Thomas Jefferson

"I am for freedom of religion and against all maneuvers to bring about a legal ascendancy of one sect over another."
Thomas Jefferson, 1799

"This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it."
John Adams, Lawyer / 2nd President of the U.S.

Religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together.”
James Madison - "Father of the Constitution" / 4th President of the U.S.

"The establishment of the chaplainship to Congress is a palpable violation of equal rights, as well as of constitutional principles."
James Madison

Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect.”
James Madison

"I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church. All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."
Thomas Paine-Age of Reason

I would not dare to so dishonor my Creator God by attaching His name to that book (the Bible).Among the most detestable villains in history, you could not find one worse than Moses. Here is an order, attributed to 'God' to butcher the boys, to massacre the mothers and to debauch and rape the daughters. I would not dare so dishonor my Creator's name by (attaching) it to this filthy book (the Bible). It is the duty of every true Deist to vindicate the moral justice of God against the evils of the Bible.Accustom a people to believe that priests and clergy can forgive sins...and you will have sins in abundance. The Christian church has set up a religion of pomp and revenue in pretended imitation of a person (Jesus) who lived a life of poverty.”
Thomas Paine

"as to religion, I hold it to be the indispensable duty of our government to protect all conscientious professors thereof, and I know of no other business which the government hath to do therewith."
Thomas Paine

"I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute--where no Catholic prelate would tell the President (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote--where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference--and where no man is denied public office merely because his religion differs from the President who might appoint him or the people who might elect him."
John F. Kennedy,1960

"Those who would renegotiate the boundaries between church and state must therefore answer a difficult question: why would we trade a system that has served us so well for one that has served others so poorly?"
Justice Sandra Day O'Conner, 2005

Along with Katherine Harris, there is this:

"Secular schools can never be tolerated because such a school has no religious instruction and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith.... We need believing people."
Adolf Hitler, April 26, 1933

Hey Toad,

Hope this is not too off topic for you. It gets to the root of the problem of deluded and greedy politicians who seek to impose their own ignorance on millions of others. Because of our reliance on money, politics, and religion, we are teetering on the verge of world-wide disaster. Idiots like Ms. Harris could care less about everyone else as long as she gets her hands on wealth and power, even if it means pretending to serve the Creator. It is long past time that people stand up for truth and justice and give these scoundrels their due.

Understanding the Fatal Flaws in Judeo-Christian-Islamic Prophecy

I pose to you and others that the context and meaning of these ancient texts have been lost on those confused by the assertions of religious leaders and founders. Ancient wisdom has been purposely recast and obfuscated into religion and mysticism. Consequently, the interpretations presented about the sources and meaning of these texts and the philosophy and cosmology of ancient Hebrew sages is completely wrong. Before you scoff and write me off, you should understand that I speak from personal experience...

Remember the saying that "the truth will set you (and others) free?" How does "opening one's eyes to the truth" relate to "making the blind see again" or "shining the light" or "illuminating a subject?" Notice the inherent symbolism associated with this supposed New Testament "miracle?"

Did you ever consider that Christianity is the False Prophet symbolized in the Apocalypse, that Rome (Vatican/Papacy) is the so-called anti-messiah, and Jesus Christ is the false messiah? I have produced stunning and comprehensive proof that this is the true interpretation of pivotal prophecies long confounded by Christianity's founders and leaders. Recasting the symbolism of earlier Hebrew texts as literal events in the New Testament is one of the central deceptions associated with Christianity.

As certain world leaders strive to instigate a fabricated "battle of Armageddon," it is vital to understand and spread the truth about these ancient texts to help bring about an end to such abominable evil. You can never expect philosophies based on lies and great error to lead to peace and harmony. How many more millennia of terrible proof is necessary before humanity finally gets a clue that most have been utterly deceived by the very concept of religion.

Without it, Bush, the Neo-Cons, and their cohorts could never have gained and retained political power by manipulating an already deluded and susceptible constituency. Likewise, their thinly veiled partners in crime, Bin Laden and his ilk, could never have succeeded in their roles in this centuries-old Vatican-led grand deception.

Have you ever heard of Machiavelli? What better way to hide the truth than to divide people among three related but divergent religions (or other strong delusions) that each obscure the truth while claiming that each is the truth?

Want to see the symbol for the tri-part endless loop and logic-trap that such a three-part Machiavellian delusion forms? Ever seen a Triquetra?

Now consider how money, religion, and politics are inseparable because of the inescapable trap (bottomless pit) they form...

We are all trapped by a web of deception formed by money, religion, and politics. The great evils that bedevil us all will never cease until humanity finally awakens, shakes off these strong delusions, and forges a new path to the future.

Here is Wisdom...

Peace...

Wow, ok, wasn't expecting all that.

Xtianity works better when you just state The Truth without trying to back it up. It reminds me of a recent bit I saw on TV about a christian natural science museum. In the dinosaur exhibit, the guide explained "They say dinosaurs lived millions of years ago; we say they lived at the same time as man." Their entire argument was "They say this, but we say that" with no support for their beliefs except to say that's how they interpret the bible.

I don't recall any mention of T-rex in the Bible. You think that would have been pretty big news. Bigger than Lot banging his daughters anyway. Wait, no, that part rocked!

Might I add that our first President was Diest.

True but he did sometimes go to church but would refrain from communion and such. There also isn't many good quotes concerning him and religion so I didn't include that.

POLL: Why does T(R)ucke(R) "Cut 'n (R)un' from Snerd?
(A) 'Cause he can't get 'er done
(B) 'Cause Snerd backs 'em down

Snerd's Banned Post: Your question reflects an 'in place' analysis and conclusion. You’re "a - b" 'thinking' as presented, represents the problem (analysis) as Arabic/Muslim/Islamic/etc. terrorism and the consequent option (the conclusion 'trucked in'), is Israel's response.

This pre-existing mindset, from which your 'pall'* question … err … poll question emanates, is the point Kevron is making, I think.

Metaphorically, asking the question whether we/Israel 'stand up' or 'stand down' in the face of terrorism is akin to addressing cancer by 'attacking' its symptoms when they become visible and obvious. Obviously in this metaphor, such an approach misses a deeper analysis of its root causes and less obvious development and therefore a more effective response.

A more 'honest' analysis would include an 'understanding' of the causes of the problem of terrorism.

For example, as a response, are terrorists 'simply' mad dogs who hate 'US' with no rational basis to that position, 'cause they are simply crazy … i.e. your option (a) or (b), the 'exte(R)minato(R) response' to an infestation of your home by termites

OR (c):
Terrorism has its origins in a rationally understandable context, where if the context is understood, that context can be altered and the consequent product controlled, or from a more 'Evolved' perspective 'selected out' … i.e. the elimination of rotting wood where termites breed

OR (d):
Some combination of the two, where there is a context which allows terrorism to take hold, a context of hopelessness say, which is then exploited by mad dogs.

And this is what your option misses, and why when there exists the possibility for more 'honest' options, it appears as a 'false dilemma'.

The way I "Grok" it … (c) or failing that (d)

'Strangely' Yours,
Snerd
