Kansas: Waking Up and Joining the 21st Century

From CNN:Wednesday, August 2, 2006; Posted: 9:21 a.m. EDT
TOPEKA, Kansas (AP) -- Conservative Republicans who pushed anti-evolution standards back into Kansas schools last year have lost control of the state Board of Education once again.

Let me be the first to welcome Kansas into the 21st century. That's right, the cavemen of Kansas' school board who voted to allow "intelligent" design to be taught alongside evolution have been voted out of office. The School Board is now stacked 6-4 in favor of evolution as opposed to 6-4 against evolution as it was before the election.

One of the board members who were replaced was Connie Morris who was once quoted describing evolution as, "an age-old fairy tale" and "a nice bedtime story unsupported by science". That’s funny, that's exactly what I say about I.D. and creationism. In reality, do you know what isn't supported by science? The story that the Earth was created in 6 days 10,000 years ago.

Welcome home Kansas. Now you can move on by giving women and minorities the right to vote or what ever else it was you missed over the last 150 years.

I was going to blog about this today as well.

Good choice, though.

Science is science, stories are stories.
Keep that shit separate..

Neo-cons were on the news saying that liberals are rewriting history. That means liberals go into the library at night and replace all the books.

Is that why librarians are always liberal, anti-censorship tree huggers?

I used to date a librarian and it rocked! She would always let me in after hours and rip pages out of the history books and add all kinds of liberal nonsense like how Americans killed indians and had slaves.

On a side note, do you know why the most Chicago Public Library branches don't carry Bibles? Its not because they are liberal Christ haters, it's because the Bibles always get stolen.

dude, are librarians like total animals when you get them alone?

maybe the glasses come off, they let their hair down. Off comes the boring sweater..

I have to know.

What is it with everyone and librarian fantasies? What ever happened to the good ol stripper fantasy?

Fantasies are just that. Being seduced by a naughty librarian is probably a million to one shot at least. Being seduced by a stripper is probably about $500, depending on location, optional accessories and mileage.

Now, I'm not saying that all strippers are hookers on the side, but you probably wouldn't have to ask more than five either.

This liberal librarian from Kansas is glad for the vote. (I'm male, though, so don't get too excited.)

Cold water: As long as this kind of thing hinges on elections, it's gonna be one step forward, two back, two forward and one back, ad infinitum. Need some distance between the state school board and the electorate, if there's not some.

strippers hate men, no thanks!

Yes, librarians are wild in the sack behind closed doors. Be warned, however, that we only put out for good food and socialists.

Yea, and the stripper fantasy usually doesn't work out very well, trust me. You just may find them on the floor from a cough syurp overdose, you know, after all the coke is gone.
