Top 25 Songs of all Time

I just responded to a post on another web-site that was asking what songs you would put on your Ipod if you were going to be stranded on an island for the rest of your life, AKA what songs are brilliant and move you in one way or another, and I came up with a list of the top 25, in no particular order:
The Clash - Straight to Hell
The Pogues - Fairy Tale of New York / Sick Bed of Culchallan tie
Modest Mouse - Trailer Trash or Third Planet
Pink Floyd - The entire Wall Album (cheated)
Queen - Under Pressure
Quicksand - Landmine Spring
Jets to Brazil - Rocket Boy (Personal, must hear)
Ben E. King - Stand By Me
Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees
Red House Painters - Drop
Samiam - Capsized
Thrice - Artist in the Ambulance (Lyrics/personal)
Louis Armstrong - Wonderful World
Sunny Day Real Estate - Iscarabaid
Johnny Cash - Long Black Vail
Bob Dylan - 7 Curses
Bad Religion - Anesthesia
Neurosis - Lost
Tom Waits - Black Wings
The Stones - Paint it Black
The Byrds - Turn Turn Turn
Public Enemy - Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos
Aerosmith - Dream On
Hank Williams Jr. - Country Boy Can Survive
The Pixies - Where is my Mind

Ok, I don't have any Beatles, so sue me.

What are your top 25? Don't forget about The Police!

OK. You are clearly a Hoosier and snuck the Hank Williams Jr. in there. But you got the wrong song, Toad. It's gotta be "Family Tradition" - Hank, why do ya' drink? Why do you roll smoke????

Tom Waits kicks ass.

If I were a true Hoosier, I would have snuck in The Authority Song by Mellencamp. Actually come to think of it, that and Pink Houses should probably be there.

And yes I forgot, the 88 FL song about getting caught in the bathroom is also one of my favorites.

The Byrds? Roger f-in McGuinn??? Since when does my angry, post-punk, humanity-hating boyfriend have a patchouli stink? I thought I knew you...

just imagine what your list would have looked like 10 years ago.

How can you be angry without The Who?

Good call on The Clash, although I like the entire "Combat Rock" album. "Ghetto Defendant" and "Atom Tan" should be the ones played on the radio, not the CONSTANT replaying of "Rock the Casbah" and "Should I Say Or Should I Go?". Oh, and don't forget "Car Jammin'" -- that song rocks!

Dude, what about Journey and Def Leppard??...Anyways, I have to agree with alot of the songs. However, you listed The Clash 'straight to hell', thats a great song, but what about the songs from the s/t album and London calling? Those are two of the best rock albums of all fucking time. You just can't compete with 'Death or Glory'. "He who fucks nuns will later join the church".
