First of all, he is a Democrat with mostly liberal leanings but also some fairly moderate views. But, since he wants to take the profit and exploitation out of health care and provide health care or at least affordable insurance to everyone in America, that's how he gets the tag of "Communist" or "Marxist". Well, first of all, there is nothing in the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx about providing health care to everyone.
In fact, let's look at the 10 main points of Communism and see how well Obama is following his so called political ideology.
- Abolition of property and land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. Nope, nothing Obama ever talked about.
- Heavy progressive or graduated income tax. Since 1913, has been getting smaller and smaller since 1980.
- Abolition of all right of inheritance. Nope, nothing Obama ever talked about.
- Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. Nope, nothing Obama ever talked about.
- Centralisation of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly. Since 1913 we have had a National Federal Reserve banking system but it has never been a monopoly and no one is talking about making it one. The first national, central bank in the US was created back in 1791 so you know, you can't blame that on Obama because he was still killing Christians and white people back in Kenya.
- Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State. Well, since the advent of the Interstate Highway system that has been in the hands of the government and there is a virtual communication monopoly by AT&T but it isn't government run, just capitalism in its purest form.
- Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of wasteland, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with common plan. Hmm, cultivation of wasteland would be a great idea, unless of course it's the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge...Wait, so Bush was a Communist?
- Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture. Industrial armies??
- Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of the population over the country. White people have built themsleves all kinds of suburbs abandoning the cities and building on once country pastures abolishing the distinction between town and country but again, that's market forces and the free market doing that. Suburbanites are Communists!
- Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of childrens labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production. Oh God no! Free education, no child labor?? Grab the hammer and cycle and run for the hills! Well, we have had free, unequal, public education for many many years now so yet again, nothing to do with Obama.
So the 10 main components of Communism have either already existed in this country for years, have been created on their own by the free market and capitalism or the idea has never even graced Obama's lips. So the next time someone calls Obama a communist, give them a good donkey punch in the back of their head.
But the Teabaggers of the world still say that he is living up to Marx by following the idea of, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" and Sean Hannity says this is taken right from the pages of the Communist Manifesto. Well, it isn't. But that's beside the point. Let's assume for a minute that statement was Obama's motto and if it were true, should he be labeled a Marxist? Communist? Let's see:

Seriously, though. I think most of the comments that are made at my blog are being done by one or two people who've set up dozens of blogs under all different names.
When I read the posts from their links, they're filled with the same unimaginative, grammar school rants with no discussion of ideas or issues.
You really can't dissuade these people from their dedication to ignorance--no matter how many facts you place before them.

Wow, what a shot across the bow, from calling people idiots for not recognizing Socialism as an economic system not a government (you left off a social system, or better yet, a socio-economic society system, if you yourself want to be correct); and then turn around a miss so many points in your point-by-point on how Obama fails the Marxism 10-points check. Maybe it was that you wrote this almost 3-years ago, so since that is the case, let's revisit this again:
1. Abolition of private property holdings.
* You missed the use of federal agencies to limit or restrict as a consideration. His placing of cabinet members that act as he wants them to act is equivocal to him doing the action himself. Whether that is Ken Salazar banning renewals of fishing leases in coastal waters, or the growth of more public land holdings, like in the Pacific Northwest, Obama is right here with the staunchest Environmentalists. So, checkpoint positive for Obama on 1.
2. Heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
* In case you missed it, Obama has this thing called Obamacare (affordable health care act, that it is actually an oxymoron is irrelevant at the moment). The SCOTUS has called this associated individual mandate 'a tax', so loss of personal freedoms to decline it, along with added taxation. We won't even argue the looming fiscal cliff that ensure taxes are about to become much heavier for some, not to mention at the moment, it appears quite graduated from the rich to the poor. Check positive for item number 2, Obama succeeds again.
3. Abolition of all inheritance rights.
* A new development since you last wrote this, is that Obama has now come forward with a recent proposal for massive modifications to the inheritance tax, to bring it up from 33% to 50%, and drop it's floor value from $5-million to $1-million in inheritance assessment. This will encompass most small businesses, and mid-level farms and ranches in America. This is a multi-point hit for Obama towards success. It not only helps destroy inheritances to future generations of deserving families, but can potentially address point 7, by eliminating 'unused' or 'poorly utilized' land in the hands of farmers-ranchers (who currently play to government agri demands of what fields-crops to plant, anyhow), into what the government might consider a 'more efficient model' (even though what is done right now, is ALSO by their direction - again, another government idiom). Combined win for Obama on point #3.
4. Confiscation of property of emigrants and rebels.
* Clearly, you haven't tried to leave the United States lately. To become an expatriot is a VERY expensive endeavor. The dictionary defines 'emigrant' as 'one who leaves their native place'. You have immigrant and emigrant clearly confused. The taxation on emigration is a nightmare, if you actually have money or assets. Likewise, be charged a traitor, a usurper, or a terrorist, and find out exactly how much you get to have, hold or keep. There are reasons for the Patriot Act, and it has NOTHING to do with your, or my security. Positive check and win for Obama on Point #4.
At this point, let me point out, that he who does nothing to undo a wrong, is as guilty as he who did the wrong. As a leader, to continue allowing mass genocide, is as bad as initiating it yourself. Just because FDR took our gold, or Wilson created the Fed, doesn't excuse Obama from guilt when he is in power to stop it, and doesn't it. 5-years ago, this would have fell on Bush, now it falls on Obama. Simple logic with legal precedence, also known as unintended (or intended) collusion of an over-spanning tactical strategy. This is best known as 'a party platform'.
5. Centralist state bank creation with an exclusive monopoly.
* Heads up, since 1913, the Federal Bank is the only commercially ran bank in the world that can create U.S. Dollars. It has it's director placed by the President, and once again, is a collusional point that falls upon Marx's 10-points. Remember, you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you get a new president to prove he's a Marxist, all you have to do is have him address the points that don't already swing in alignment of the points not already aligned. If Obama wasn't a Marxist, he would and truly should, disband the Fed and return power to the U.S. Treasury, which was the ONLY entity that our Constitution empowered with the ability to create money and retain our national wealth. Another win for Obama on point #5.
6. Centralization of communication and transport in the nation-state.
* This one isn't a completed work yet, but before you think it isn't being addressed, you need to look at the 'one-ID' passport ID's that are now mandatory in all states. This is nationwide transport control, whether you will admit it or not. The TSA is transport control. Your IP being tracked every time you log into a terminal anywhere is Transport control. Your e-mail being traceable through all points is transport control. Ignorance of the constant controls over you does not negate them, it merely proves you've accepted the works completed so far. That's ok, a lot of Germans did too, all the way through most of the 1930's. Obama has fostered this work, not stopped it. Another point for Obama on Marx's list.
7. Extending factories and production methods that are state-owned, cultivating wasteland, and the improvement of the soil.
* Hate to break it to you, but the U.S. has had a 'Soil Conservation Program' since the dustbowl era, and it still thrives in most agricultural areas of the U.S. today. This was an FDR program effort. Beyond this, it might also be assumed under this item (as fuel wasn't so critical then as it is now) that factory production by the state in wastelands might also imply the use of otherwise-desolate areas as potential fuel generation locations, or waste storage areas. To this effort, we have the Yucca Flats dump sites, Windmill farms, solar farms, and complete government programs, such as the Dept of Energy. No one said all of Marx's points were bad. Firearms aren't bad either, it's how they are used. Obama has fostered this point #7 as well.
8. Equal liability to labor, establishment of industrial armies.
* Your denial of this one is hilarious. You ask 'what armies?' Clearly, you haven't looked at the 12-15-million illegal immigrants into America lately. Since we can't 'force Americans' to do hard-labor, the reason we opened the borders and ignored fixing this 'very important national security oversight' is so that we could meet point 8 on the list. Again, this point falls heavily to Obama's favor.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction, more equitable distribution of the population.
* heads up, you are thinking too small if you think this hasn't been achieved. Think larger, think One World Grouping. Now, if segments of Canada and the U.S. are 'the world's breadbasket', then it makes sense that you want these two as your 'global farm', and you have all that cheap labor in Asia, then you have that 'global factory', and for Africa, you have the 'global zoo' and South America you have 'the global conservancy and lungs'. It's not that it doesn't exist, it's just that the planners are much smarter than you, and have done it right in front of you, and you didn't even watch the magic while it was performed. No, it's not complete yet, but most of the transitions are nearing completion, and the goal is obvious.
The one question for you, is this: If you aren't one that is harvesting onions in Georgia, or wheat in Saskatchewan, then exactly what good are you to the 'North American Bread basket', and what are they going to do with all that 'dead weight' of nasty non-working Americans when it's finally time to 'finish the project'? Another point for Obama on 9, with heavy help from Republican predecessors on this one.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Combination of education with industrial production.
* heads up again, school's been free for 80-years. Finished. Accomplished. We just haven't got the full integration yet of combining education with industrial production well yet. Yes, during the 1970's we had a wonderful 'vocational trades' program in the nation, at a time when we envisioned ourselves to continue to be the Industrial Heavyweight of the world. We gave this up to Asia, and as we did, we forgot and stopped many of these schools. Now, a new resurgence is occurring in the Vocational Arts, and so maybe it's only a few years away. Marx was a devout Union-man with much contempt for the Bourgeois, after-all. A half-win so far for Obama, all he needs is a vocational school resurgence to grab that last half-point.
Overall, your messiah president is batting 9.5 on the Marx 1-to-10 meter for ultimate Marxism. I'd say that's better than Hitler, Mao or Lenin ever achieved. It only makes a thinking man wonder one thing. When does the bloodshed come, and how bad will it be. After all, there DOES have to be a population elimination to make the final transition, there are just clearly too many people on the planet, we can't sustain them, this Marxist plan is VERY inefficient, and doesn't even have half the 'carry-capacity' of what capitalism does, so, ask yourself, are you ready to die for this plan to become reality? If not, and the attrition rate is 50%, then are you ready to sacrifice your mother, your father, your child to it being reality? What if they find it the hell that all others have found it to be, once they approached it. You will have sacrificed a loved one, for possibly a world far worse than this, chasing a dream many others have also failed at realizing.
