From Fox News 3/29/05:
Falwell, 71, was admitted to Lynchburg General Hospital shortly before midnight Monday suffering from "respiratory arrest," the hospital said in a statement, meaning his breathing had slowed or stopped.
From the mouth of Jerry Falwell:
"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals. To oppose it would be like an Israelite jumping in the Red Sea to save one of Pharoah's chariotters."
"God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve."
"And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say, "You helped this happen."
It's almost like he is saying you reap what you sow, and that if you sin enough, such as being a fat glutton, then you will have to pay for it in the end, and you deserve what you get.
So are people supposed to feel sorry for someone who leads such a risky lifestyle?
If only he would have treated his body like a temple instead of a garbage disposal, he may still be healthy and would have one day gone to heaven.

Unfortunately, today they say he is getting better. I'm sure it won't be long though. The sad thing is someone else will just carry on his insanity in the supposed name of God.
Fallwell is not someone who usually say is our spokesperson, anymore than Farakhan is for the blacks, or Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson.
These people don't teach tolerance, they teach hatred.
My faith teaches me to tolerate other people's shortcomings, because I am not perfect. However, tolerance, doens't mean acceptance.
Nor does it mean that I can't try to talk them out of the stupidity that they are doing to themselves.
