wrong...conservatives don't oppose change. Conservatives opposes a certain kind of change.

Ya ya, this again is not my interpretation of the words, its’s what it says in the dictionary. I think both of these words get stigmatized a bit, when in reality they aren't all that terrible. The only problem is, no one has a name for what I call myself, and what a lot of people in this country are; centrists. I am liberal on social issues but conservative on things like crime and punishment but neither on wealth distribution and taxes.
Typically when I am talking to conservatives I sound liberal and when I am talking to liberals I sound like a conservative. And its in that area where there is room for a third political party. You can take a guy like McCain and a guy like Gephardt and other than abortion, how different are they? Clearly theres your guys like Kerry and Bush that are party hardliners but Lieberman and Dean probably have more differences between them than Gephardt and McCain, but remain in the same political party. I got off on a tangent but the two pary system blows!

When you say you are quoting the dictionary you need to mention which dictionary you are quoting. Not all dictionaries have the same definitions.
Using those two definitions, both apply to me equally. However, most of the people I know who would consider themselves to be 'liberal' are neither broad-minded nor tolerant of other people's ideas if they conflict with their own.
And conservatives are? At least with liberals you have some gray area, most conservatives just turn to a page in the Bible and say "god said so, thats why, end of discussion." Liberals don't have such a book.
Don't know anyone like that actually. If I did, I'd probably call them up whenever I got board and laugh at them. Anyone like that probably wouldn't be reading the Bible because it contains too many dirty, raunchy things throughout the book.
